Yeah Shannon, you didn't say it perfectly. When I step on toes or hurt feelings, I either delete the post, make a change, or send an apology to the person I've offended. Words really matter, and how we say them matters as well. I think you have a lot of great points about how people decided not to "see" you and help you in this piece, I am simply showing you a part that I disagree with and I feel is unfair.
That's it. We've all done it as writers in the past and I've eaten a lot of crap because of sentences or headlines that should've been changed. I don't think you're some horrible person, but my name was mentioned in an article that's likely been read by a thousand + people and I feel like what was said about me wasn't fair.
I hope you don't feel I think your condition is unimportant. I understand it's life-threatening. I am sorry that my language suggested I didn't think it was important. That's why I'm sharing it, because I think it's important. And no, my sharing it is not conditional on whether you take my name out of this piece like some other comments suggested.
