Why I Have A Ton Of Faith In Medium Again

P.S. Please stop telling me I’m flip-flopping on this issue

#TWITTERISDEAD

I saw that hilarious hashtag trending on Twitter the other day.

People are apparently leaving Twitter in droves, preaching about the end of this social media platform.

All while daily active users keeps increasing, but let’s not get into that.

The point is Elon Musk took over, gave many Twitter employees the option to stay and work hard on the future, or leave and get a 3-month severance package.

Many left.

Like, a lot.

And that caused a lot of people to believe that Twitter was doomed to die because of the new leadership of Elon, and the fact that Twitter had a fraction of the employees it used to.

Let me ask you a question..

Is it hard to see why people would believe this is the end of Twitter?

Do they get to change their opinions about the future of Twitter now that there’s a new leader and a lot of things have changed?

For me it’s absolutely fair that people might believe Twitter is going to die. I personally don’t think it’s going to die (like, at all), but I can totally see how it could in the future.

Good. That brings us to Medium.

Medium Has A New CEO

Tony Stubblebine is the new CEO of Medium. That happened a few months ago, and it’s the main reason I have faith in this platform for the future.

I don’t want to compare Elon and Tony, but I do want to point out that both of them are pretty darn transparent about their plans for the future.

Tony’s made it pretty darn clear where he wants to take Medium moving forward.

That hasn’t always been the case.

Under the old leadership, we had to do a full-blown psycho-analysis of each 500-word article we got about Medium from Tech Crunch just to figure out where the hell Ev wanted to take the platform.

There was no transparency. Nothing. Nada.
