We Shouldn’t Care About Simone Biles’ Decision

Yesterday on social media I saw a flurry of posts about Simone Biles.

If you didn’t know, she made the decision to drop out of the team gymnastics finals at the Olympic Games, citing mental health concerns.

“After the performance I did I just didn’t want to go on,” said Biles.

“I do not trust myself anymore, I tried to go out there for the team and they stepped up to the plate.”

Simone’s decision to drop out sparked a variety of reactions from folks on social media, like this supportive tweet from Kavitha A. Davidson.

Unsurprisingly for this social world we live in, Simone, who is an Olympic champion, also got her fair share of haters.
