The USA Is Full Of Complainers And Weak People
“It’s the end of the empire, Mom.”
I’ve told my Mom that many times while being here in Mexico with them.
The “end of the empire” I’m describing is the USA. Why?
Well, my parents are visiting a “developing” country for the very first time, and they’re floored by how patient Mexicans seem to be.
I cut somebody off in traffic the other day (a common occurrence in Mexico) and the driver I cut off wasn’t the least bit upset.
“Wow! In America, that person would’ve tore your head off,” they told me.
No kidding.
After spending a week here, my parents sat down at breakfast and started talking about the differences between Mexico and the USA.
“People seem more patient here,” they said. “They also smile and say good morning to you! I remember in our hometown nobody said good morning to anybody. It’s like everybody had a stick up their butt.”
In other words, people seem to treat each other with common respect and decency here.
In the States? Forget about it. At least, that’s been my parents’ experience.
