When I first came to Mexico last May, I was shocked to see… GASP….

White Mexicans.

When I saw these other-worldly beings walking around in front of me at nearby parks and restaurants, you’d have thought I just saw a unicorn or something.

Obviously I’m joking a little.

This was one of my first realizations from living here in Mexico, though:

Mexicans come in all shapes, sizes, skin colors, hair colors, eye colors, and anything else you could possibly imagine.

However, I didn’t fully grasp what this ACTUALLY meant until yesterday — 8 months into my journey here in Mexico.

While perusing Twitter yesterday, I saw that the hashtag #ShutUpGringo2022 was trending. Being a gringo myself, I was intrigued. So I clicked.

What I found, as I told my girlfriend, “partió mi mundo en dos,” or “tore my world in two.”

It All Started With Encanto..
