My Readers Know Me Better Than My Own Family Does
I don’t mean to bash my family here.
In fact, that’s not my intention at all.
I simply want to point out a really crazy fact:
My readers know me better than my own family does. Here’s why:
Every Day I Pour My Soul Out To You
I write here five times per week. With each article you get about 500–1,000 unfiltered words from me. They’re also edited, right?
So from me you get a well-presented singular idea every weekday.
I talk to my parents once every week or so. My thoughts are all over the place when we discuss stuff — and a good bit of our hour-long conversations are me just listening.
That means they get about 30 minutes of me talking every week.
And even in those 30 minutes how honest can I be? I don’t want to hurt feelings unless I need to say something important.
Here, though, I can say whatever I want. And I do so because I know for a fact that my family doesn’t — and can’t — read every article I publish.
I’m not upset about that at all. In fact, I’m kind of happy about it. It’s like my public journal that nobody close to me thinks to read. Even my fiancé doesn’t keep up with all…
