My Parents Have A Trump Sign In Their Yard — And I’m Okay With It
“We have a Trump sign in our yard, Tom,” my Dad said.
“You probably shouldn’t have told him that,” snapped my Mom.
We all laughed.
Oh gosh. The great divide. Some people on the internet would have me break all bonds of fellowship with my Mother and Father for that.
Some would call for me to disown them. To never talk to them again. To hold this incredibly offensive offense against them for the rest of their lives.
Because they put a sign up in their own yard that they own.
I won’t do any of that.
When I go home this December, I’ll likely feel a little embarrassment seeing that in my parents front yard, but that’s their choice to put it there.
What can I do?
Maybe I can steal the sign from the front yard one night like the Grinch. That’ll show em, right?
At the end of the day, I’m going to be okay with it — for better of for worse.
