Medium Is A Cesspool.

Let’s just dive right in.

Medium, for the last few years, has been a cesspool.

And no, I’m not talking about the algorithm.

I’m talking about writers writing articles about other writers.

Sometimes we straight up call each other out by name in our pieces.

And sometimes we write thinly veiled blog posts that, wink wink, everybody knows who it’s about.

I couldn’t see it until now, but Medium is seriously a cesspool.

It’s a cesspool of

  • Self congratulation
  • Drama
  • He said/she said
  • “All men suck”
  • Thinly veiled hit pieces
  • Hit pieces with no veil

But, my friends, my hands aren’t clean in this.

I’m Just As Guilty As Anybody

I think you’d be hard-pressed to find a writer who’s written more thinly-veiled hit pieces than me.

I told myself at the time that I was just “being real” and saying things that other top writers were too afraid to say in public.

I like being real.
