Is Your Article Good Enough To Publish? Use This Test To Find Out

Let me explain something to you.

My best articles didn’t go viral.

The best article I ever wrote, in my opinion, was about God.

It got about 1,500 views which used to be pretty typical for me as a writer back in 2018.

I remember where and when I wrote it, and how I felt when I finished it.

It was my best article because it didn’t cause division in the comments section. I was talking about one of the most hotly-debated topics on planet earth — religion — and I didn’t receive one bad comment.

In fact, my own Father — a staunch Christian — read my article and said he really loved it.

For me, there’s a few litmus tests for deciding whether an article is “great” or not.

  1. Did you argue for both sides?
  2. Did you leave room for yourself to be wrong?
  3. Did you write it with respect for everyone?

If you did all three, then it’s pretty much impossible for anyone to come at you with venom in the comments section.

People will politely tell you what they disagreed with — if anything — and most will probably applaud you for respecting all sides involved.

That’s a great article.

It’s easy to write something bashing a particular group of people.

It’s hard to show restraint, respect, and a willingness to be proven wrong.

Do the hard thing and you’ll know your article is worthy of publishing no matter what.

Happy writing.
