A few days ago Facebook and Instagram vanished from planet earth. For 14 long hours both platforms went dark, which sucked because a video I made on Facebook had just crossed 100,000 views.

It stopped dead in its tracks after that.

I make money with ad-breaks on Facebook. Some months I make $700, and others I make $6,000 plus. It just depends on how well certain videos of mine do.

If Facebook really went down, I would lose a significant part of my business, and it would absolutely cripple me from a financial perspective.

I know some people on Medium who make $8,000 per month. What if Medium went away?

Yesterday was a shocking glimpse into what COULD be, and it scared the dickens out of many who rely on these platforms for their business.

But maybe it shouldn’t scare us too much — I think we would just make another version.

Facebook Creates 4.5 Million Jobs Worldwide

In 2015 it was reported that Facebook created 4.5 million jobs worldwide. These job titles include social media managers, developers, and people who make internet equipment.

This was in 2015, mind you.
