I miss Anthony as well. I remember the Parts Unknown episode from the Philippines. He really did a great job capturing the essence of their culture. I also remember the one where he went to visit the “Lunch Lady” in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.

I actually went there and saw her and ate a bowl of her soup. It was absolutely amazing. I went there about a month after he passed and I don’t know whether she was down that day or whether she’s normally pretty quiet but she seemed a little different from the lady I saw in Parts Unknown.

I’m sure she heard the news and I’m sure she was sad about it.

He was a huge inspiration to me and so many others, and without him I can only wonder how many thousands (millions?) of people wouldn’t have gone ahead with getting out of their comfort zone and traveling the world.
