As A Creator, It’s Always Best To Start Very Small — Here’s What I Mean
I filmed my first few poker clips a few days ago.
Guess what?
They absolutely suck.
The first video of mine has 6 views on Youtube and the only two likes are from me on two separate accounts.
But it’s not a problem — I already know that I need to make probably 30 videos or so before I see any traction.
So why the hell am I writing this right now?
To help save you a lot of time.
For me, short form content has always been very interesting.
When I started writing on Medium in late 2016, I wrote 300 word posts. You could read em’ in like two minutes. The best part was, it only took me about 30 minutes to write them up, too.
Recently the whole “Youtube short” thing has become mainstream. I can spend 20–30 minute chunks of my life bingeing shorts like a little demon.
Youtube shorts are very tantalizing for me as a creator also because it’s a way for me to test the waters without dedicating dozens of hours of my workweek to one vlog.
I can make a Youtube short in about an hour — that’s not too bad, especially considering it would probably take me at least 6 hours to make one…
