Here’s who I am and what I’m working on in 2021. Follow Nik while you’re at it, too. 😃
I’m a traveler, blogger, vlogger, and online course creator. Here are my social media handles.
When I write I normally focus on millennial personal development, politics, creativity…
Yesterday on social media I saw a flurry of posts about Simone Biles.
If you didn’t know, she made the decision to drop out of the team gymnastics finals at the Olympic Games, citing mental health concerns.
“After the performance I did I just didn’t want to go on,” said Biles.
“I do not trust myself anymore, I tried to go out there for the team and they stepped up to the plate.”
Simone’s decision to drop out sparked a variety of reactions from folks on social media, like this supportive tweet from Kavitha A. Davidson.
In 2018 I wasted a day in Bali arguing with some nobody on Twitter. It was a Saturday, and as the hours ticked off the clock, never to be seen again, the hole in my soul got deeper and deeper.
I argued with this petty man for 6 hours about a topic he knew nothing about.
It ruined my day.
In 2017 I received a comment from somebody that sliced into my soul like a sword. It was on some freelancing article that I wrote and I was talking about how much I didn’t want to do it anymore.
Yesterday Bitcoin was up a remarkable 25% in a single week.
“I made $17,000 from writing on Newsbreak last month.”
That’s something Matt Lillywhite sent me in a tweet the other day. I was flabbergasted, impressed, happy for him, and also felt a ping of jealousy.
Matt’s a bit of a tank when it comes to writing. He can pump out blog post after blog post endlessly and not suffer (at least, to my knowledge) any creative burnout of any kind.
Matt reminds me of me back in 2015–2016. I used to be able to write 3 blog posts per day back then. …
“I still don’t know what you do, Tom.”
Someone asked me that the other day.
I audibly sighed. I didn’t know what to say. Truth be told, I hate talking about “What I do” because I either get two reactions from people:
It feels good to be understood by people. Conversely I want to vomit when getting weird stares and yawns.
I sell online courses. I write online. I make money doing both of these two things. Sometimes I can make upwards of $10,000+ per month doing this. …
It happened. I’m on Bitclout. Here’s my profile.
For those of you who don’t know what Bitclout is, here’s a good definition taken straight from their Wikipedia page:
Bitclout is brand new. If it were a baby, it’d still be screaming. The soft launch happened in March of 2021, and within weeks users were investing millions of dollars per day on the platform.
I started being active a few days ago. I bought about $100 worth of…
So, how long does it take to write 1,000 words online?
Let’s make this spicy, shall we? I’ll time myself writing this very article. I’m aiming for 1,000 words and hope to get it done within the next hour.
But first, let me answer the question..
How long does it take to write 1,000 words online, for me?
It takes me about an hour. I swear to everything holy. How? I’ve written some 1,000 blog posts online since 2016 — so I’ve had a lot of practice. …
The Four Agreements are:
These agreements are from a book called “The Four Agreements.” Crazy, right?
I heard these while listening to an interview that Joe Rogan gave a few weeks ago. All of them stuck with me, but one stood out in particular:
“Don’t take anything personally.”
As someone who takes things personally ALL THE TIME, it was liberating to hear this rule.
It came with no qualifiers.
It doesn’t say “don’t take anything personally from people who don’t know you.”
So, we’re talking about writing on Medium vs blogging on your own website. Which one is best?
The answer is simple:
I love blogging on both my personal website and on my Medium page, and many times I actually do a Medium blog integration where I post the same article on BOTH my website and my blog.
You might be wondering about how to integrate medium blogs into websites or how to use Medium to promote your blog. I’ll cover all of this in the article.
I’d love to take a minute to talk about the pros and…
